KAINUU ORIENTEERING WEEK 2025

EMBARGOED AREA

Kainuu Orienteering Week 2025 embargoed area (PDF map) have been in the Finnish Orienteering Federation´s map register. Orienteering training an competition is forbidden in this embargoed area until 4th July 2025.

Information about the embargoed areas for Vuokatti-Jukola 2027 and Kainuu Orienteering Week 2025:

• Until now (30.4.2025), it has been permitted to move within the Kainuu Orienteering Week embargoed area (Möykky, Puoliväli, Heikkilä, Porttivaara, Rekikesti, Rönkkö) on marked outdoor trails without a map.
• Starting from May 1, 2025, all movement in the area by competitors of the Orienteering Week and their support personnel is strictly prohibited.
• Until the end of the Orienteering Week (July 4, 2025), it is not allowed to, for example, use the Möykky or Porttivaara loops, the lighted Vaara trail (Heikkilä’s easy route), or the UKK trail between Rönkkö and Möykynlampi.
• Regarding arrival to the Orienteering Week, it is allowed to travel by bike or on foot along the lighted Vaara trail up to Puolivälintie. From there, the rest of the route must follow Puolivälintie – Ohravaarantie – Otrantie. This restriction applies during both competition and rest days: June 29–July 4, 2025.
• Orienteers are allowed to move without a map until May 1, 2027 in the following areas: ski slopes, the road to Vuokatinvaara, competition ski tracks, the Kettumäki loop, and the route between Vuokatti Sports Institute and Möykynlampi.
