Dance Swing is organizing an open dance course on the first rest day of the Kainuu Orienteering Week, Monday, June 29th. Come and learn the basics of Finnish social dancing in a relaxed atmosphere and get your moves ready for the week’s dance events!
The Dance Swing course is a beginner-level class where we start right from the basics. It is perfect for first-timers or those looking to refresh and strengthen their skills. We use a partner rotation system, so you are welcome to join with or without a partner.
The focus will be on Foxtrot and Waltz. These are the most common dances at Finnish dance halls, and mastering them will ensure you have a great time at any social dance event.
Course Details:
- Location: Ämmänsaaren Työväentalo
- Time: Monday, June 29th, 2026, from 16:00 to 18:00 (4 PM – 6 PM)
- Price: €10 per hour (payment by cash or card)
- Instructors: Martti Komulainen and Lea Keränen
Equipment and Services:
We recommend wearing comfortable clothing that allows for movement and indoor shoes suitable for dancing. During the course, a café will be open, offering refreshments and light snacks.
Put Your Skills to the Test the Very Next Day!
You’ll have the chance to apply everything you’ve learned right away at the same venue! On Tuesday, June 30th, the wonderful Heidi Pakarinen will be performing at the Ämmänsaari dance hall.
Add the course to your holiday plans and join us alone, with a partner, or with a group of friends – see you on the dance floor!
