The fourth and final stage of the competition was cancelled on Friday morning shortly after the first starts due to safety concerns caused by a developing thunderstorm. Around one hundred competitive and recreational runners had already started, and all of them reached the finish safely.

The final results were determined based on the first three competition days, which competition director Antti Flöjt stated was the fairest solution for all participants.

Next year, Kainuu Orienteering Week 2026 will be held in the pine forest terrain of Säynäjä, Suomussalmi, and organized by Suomussalmen Rasti.
