Come and experience the best MTBO terrains and views of the Sotkamo, Vuokatti and Kainuu region

The Kainuu MTBO Week consists of four stages held in the Salmela neighborhoods and the finest pine forests of Sotkamo. The event centres will be at Hiukka Baseball Stadium for the first two stages, at Tipsakka Village Hall for the third, and at Vuokatti Sports Institute for the final stage.

The week's program is designed so that participants can combine both the MTBO and orienteering week events as they wish. The first stage takes place before the opening stage of the Kainuu Orienteering Week, the second and third stages on the rest days, and the final stage is scheduled to align with the last stage of the Kainuu Orienteering Week.

The Kainuu MTBO Week is also part of the Finnish MTBO Cup series.

1st stage, Sun 29th June

- Hiukka stadion / Salmela-Hiukka
- sprint
- urban terrain in the Salmela area near the centre of Sotkamo
2nd stage, Mon 30th June
- at 11.00 (competition categories + open courses)
- Hiukka stadion / Pöllyvaara-Hiukka
- middle distance
- urban terrain in the Salmela area near the centre of Sotkamo
- trail-rich pine forest terrain with varying elevations
3rd stage, Wed 2nd July
- at 11.00 (competition categories + open courses)
- Village house Tipsakka / Tipasoja
- long distance
- Tipasoja's legendary pine forest and moor terrain
4th stage, Fri 4th July
- at 13.00 (competition categories + open courses)
- Vuokatti Sport
- middle distance
- fast pine forest terrain intersected by the Vuokatti Sport roller skiing track

Entry and registration into Kainuu MTBO Week

Entry and registration will be opened in Autumn 2024 and the entry steps are as follows:

30th November 2024
28th February 2025
31st May 2025
9th June 2025
On-site entry and registration is only possible for MTBO open courses (not into the MTBO competition categories)
