Traffic and Parking Notice – Important Information for Arriving at the Competition Centre

The rain during the first stage of Kainuu Orienteering Week 2025 on Sunday, June 29, has softened the field parking areas. As a result, a contingency parking plan will be in effect starting Tuesday, July 1.

Please note the following changes and instructions when arriving at the event:

• P4 Parking Area Closed
  • Due to the rain, the P4 parking field is unusable – the ground is too soft for vehicle traffic or parking.
• Alternative Parking Along Ohravaarantie
  • Vehicles originally directed to P4 will now be parked along Ohravaarantie (roadside parking).
  • Traffic control personnel will be on-site – please follow their instructions and signage.
• Shuttle Bus Service from Ohravaarantie to the Competition Centre
  • A nonstop shuttle bus operates along Ohravaarantie, departing from the designated bus stop near the former P4 area and heading to the competition centre.
  • If you park near the P4 area, you may use this shuttle for transport.
  • Competition buses may also pick up passengers at the same stop if space allows.
• Ohravaarantie is One-Way!
  • Regardless of where you park along Ohravaarantie, the road is one-way, and all traffic must exit via Rekivaarantie. This ensures smooth and safe traffic flow.
• Parking Tickets Are Valid on the Competition Buses
  • All parking tickets for P4 and other parking areas are valid as transport tickets for the competition buses.
  • We recommend using the buses – extra capacity has been added to ease transport to and from the venue.

• Bus Stop at the Competition Centre
  • The competition centre bus stop is located at the same place as during the first stage (at the intersection of Ohravaarantie and Otrantie, approximately 700 meters walk from the centre).
  • The bus stop is being widened to allow cars to pass more easily when buses are stopped.

• VIP and FAMILY Parking Areas Operate Normally
  • These parking areas remain open and are accessible via Otrantie.
  • Note: There is only one entrance to these areas, located at the upper end of Otrantie, just before the competition centre.

Please arrive early and allow extra time for parking and transportation.
