Kainuu Orienteering Week kicked off in Säynäjä – stage 1 victories taken by Marika Teini and Miika Kirmula

Kainuu Orienteering Week kicked off for the 58th time on Sunday in Suomussalmi, introducing participants to the pine forest terrains of Säynäjä for the very first time. In the men’s elite category, Miika Kirmula of Kalevan Rasti took the victory in warm weather, completing the course of just over 10 kilometers in a time of 54:39.

Kaisanet and Kainuu Orienteering Week: Fiber optic arrives in Suomussalmi – high-speed connections up to 20 kilometers from the municipal centre

The partnership between Kainuu Orienteering Week (KOW) and Kaisanet Oy has already spanned 15 years, and this summer, the collaboration continues stronger than ever. While orienteers take over the terrains of Suomussalmi, Kaisanet is strengthening the region''s digital infrastructure by extensively building a fiber-optic network across the municipality.
