57th Kainuu Orienteering Week

Sotkamo Health Centre reminds visitors to Rastiviikko: call in advance and pay attention to the opening hours

The health centre (Keskuskatu 9), located in the centre of Sotkamo, is open Monday to Thursday from 8:00 to 16:00, and on Fridays from 8:00 to 15:00.

Please note that X-ray services close at 15:00, and on Fridays at 14:00.

The health centre is closed on Saturdays and Sundays.

Before visiting an emergency clinic, please call the Medical Helpline on 116 117.

Athletes Tracked by GPS on Tuesday, 1 July 2025

The list of GPS-tracked athletes for tomorrow’s second stage (Tuesday, 1 July) has now been updated on the website.

As with the previous day, GPS tracking will be available only for the elite classes (H/D21E).

Traffic and Parking Notice – Important Information for Arriving at the Competition Centre

The rain during the first stage of Kainuu Orienteering Week on Sunday, June 29, has softened the field parking areas. As a result, a contingency parking plan will be in effect starting Tuesday, July 1.

Please note the following changes and instructions when arriving at the event:

Kainuu Orienteering Week kicked off in Ohravaara – Elias Kuukka and Veera Klemettinen took the victories on the first day

Kainuu Orienteering Week began on Sunday for the 57th time in Sotkamo, in the terrain of the Vuokatti hills.
In rainy weather, the men''s victory went to Elias Kuukka from Tampereen Pyrintö with a time of 1:10:35. The main class course length was 8.7 kilometers.

In the women''s main class, there were some mistakes. The victory went to Veera Klemettinen from Suunta Jyväskylä, who completed the 6-kilometer course in 1:03:15.
